Winter Menu 2008 - Delicious things delivered to you

All our food is made with fresh local ingredients as far as possible and is presented in ceramic Dishes, ready for your oven, or to serve. You may order for 4, 6, 8, 10 or more people. As we shop and cook especially for you, please accept a minimum order charge of £85.00. Delivery is free for orders over £200 and £10 for orders under this amount within a 15 mile radius on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Starters

Italian stuffed aubergines with tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese

Chicken liver pâté, globe artichoke hummus or smoked mackerel pâté

Curried parsnip and apple soup with Parmesan croûtons

Individual filo pastry tarts with feta cheese, tomato, spinach and pine nuts

Smoked salmon mousse wrapped in locally smoked salmon

Game terrine with pheasant, pork and venison wrapped in streaky bacon

Haunch of Venison in juniper and red wine marinade with orange and redcurrant jelly

Coq au vin with smoked bacon, mushrooms, red wine and brandy

Fisherman’s stew with chorizo, potatoes, smoked haddock and monkfish

Pork tenderloin with prunes, white wine and crème fraîche

Aubergines baked with tomatoes, basil and mozzarella cheese

Beef stewed in beer with bay, thyme and mustard

Salmon en croûte with ginger, butter and currants

Pencoose favourites: lasagne, shepherd’s pie, moussaka, William’s fish pie, chicken and mushroom pie and game pie

Dauphinoise potatoes – sliced and gently cooked with cream and garlic
Lyonnaise potatoes – sliced then baked with onions in a vegetable stock
Rosti potatoes – grated and then pan-fried until golden

Roasted red peppers stuffed with fennel and fresh herb

Chicory or cauliflower gratin with Gruyere cheese topping

Red cabbage stewed with chestnuts, apples and cloves

Puy lentils with sautéed carrots, bacon, parsley and thyme

Coleslaw with carrots, white cabbage olive oil and mayonnaise

Waldorf salad with walnuts, apples, celery and parsley
